Less than a month from today, I’ll be walking another 60 miles for the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day. I can’t believe it is already here! I’m just $300 from my minimum, but as a team we have a ways to go to reach our collective minimum. Lucky for my, I have friends that are willing to help around the country.
Enter Sara Tyler and her company Charity’s Candles and Crafts.
Sara and I (and her husband) were residence directors together at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado almost 10 years ago. After we all left Durango, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphona and her life quickly switched gears. It was clear that corporate work wasn’t the path after she made the move from patient to survivor. So she started a company that focused on what she loves to do and what she cares about.
At Charity’s Candles and Craft she hand-pours candles, crochets and donates a portion of all proceeds to charity. This week the Chicago Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3-Day and my team @Titterati are the recipients of the proceeds. She even made a special canvas bag for charity walkers. So please head over there and buy one of her delicious soy candles.
